Adeia Wins 2026 AutoTech Breakthrough Award for Overall Electric Vehicle Innovation of the Year
Award recognizes Adeia's Capillary-Driven Cooling technology, a thermal management architecture for high-power electric motors

SAN JOSE, CALIF. — Adeia announced it won the 2026 AutoTech Breakthrough Award for Overall Electric Vehicle Innovation of the Year for its Capillary-Driven Cooling technology. The release describes the system as a thermal management approach for high-power electric motors that uses embedded capillary pathways between motor windings to move liquid coolant toward the hottest regions, with evaporative cooling and capillary replenishment sustaining heat removal. Adeia says the approach improves temperature uniformity in compact motors without significantly increasing system complexity, motor size, coolant flow or pumping power.
