Big News: Calibrated Power Joins Forces with Wehrli Custom Fabrication
Calibrated Power Solutions and Wehrli Custom Fabrication (WCFab) have merged, with WCFab owner Jason Wehrli acquiring the Illinois diesel tuning company. Founder Nick Priegnitz will continue to lead technical product development and calibration strategy for the combined operation.
The companies say the deal formalizes more than 15 years of collaboration. Both will continue operating independently from their own facilities and with their own teams, but will now share engineering, design, validation, and fabrication resources to accelerate development of new diesel products.
The partnership's track record includes some of the industry's most ambitious projects. One is David Schaefer's 2015 GMC Denali, known as 'Time Bomb' -- an emissions-intact LML build, developed with Cold Front Diesel, that broke the 700-horsepower mark while maintaining factory-like regeneration intervals. Other joint projects include a triple-turbo 10.4L Cummins sled pull truck, an LB7-powered land speed record attempt, and what the companies describe as the first emissions-on compound turbo kits.
For diesel enthusiasts, the companies say the merger should bring faster innovation through integrated design, fabrication, calibration, and processes; more complete, proven performance packages engineered and tested together; a continued commitment to emissions-intact performance; and the reliability both brands are known for.
Future projects already underway include expanded support for 2024-and-newer L5P Duramax and 2023-and-newer 6.7L Power Stroke platforms, plus continued growth of the Stealth Turbo line. Calibrated Power has operated from Woodstock, Illinois since 2008 under its DuramaxTuner and Stealth Turbo brands; WCFab, founded in 2010, runs a 112,000-square-foot CNC machining, fabrication, and powder-coat operation in DeKalb, Illinois.
