BRABUS P 900 Rocket Edition: BRABUS Introduces the Next Generation of Its High-Performance Pickup Based on the Mercedes-AMG G 63

BRABUS coachbuilding transforms the iconic off-roader into an all-wheel-drive supercar with a pickup bed.

BOTTROP, GERMANY — With 900 horsepower and 1,250 Nm (922 lb-ft) of maximum torque, the BRABUS P 900 ROCKET EDITION returns in an exclusive new generation as one of the world’s most powerful pickup trucks, strictly limited to only 10 units.

Based on the current W 465 series Mercedes-AMG G 63, the coachbuilding division of BRABUS (Brabus-Allee, 46240 Bottrop, Germany, Tel. +49 (0) 2041 777-0, www.brabus.com) now adds another highlight to the German luxury brand’s Masterpiece supercar portfolio. Yet the new model offers more than its distinctive pickup design, featuring a rear module with a cargo bed specially developed for the iconic off-roader.

Its bold, extraordinary appearance is underscored by the BRABUS ROCKET EDITION widebody design with exposed carbon-fiber elements and 24-inch BRABUS Monoblock II EVO three-spoke wheels with carbon aeroblades, inspired by one of the most legendary wheels in BRABUS history.

At the heart of the high-performance pickup is the BRABUS ROCKET 900 V8 increased-displacement engine, built in the company's state-of-the-art engine manufacturing facility. In addition to increasing the eight-cylinder engine's displacement to 4.5 liters, the conversion includes a specially developed twin-turbo system and reprogrammed electronic engine management. The engine produces 662 kW / 900 hp and 1,250 Nm (922 lb-ft) of maximum torque, electronically limited to 1,050 Nm (774 lb-ft) inside the vehicle. The BRABUS P 900 ROCKET EDITION accelerates from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 280 km/h (174 mph).

Complementing the supercar's exterior finish, the BRABUS Masterpiece interior is handcrafted in black leather and Alcantara by the specialists of the company's in-house upholstery workshop. A range of carbon-fiber elements gives the cockpit a distinctly sporty character, while numerous components finished in “ROCKET RED” add striking contrasts.

Each BRABUS P 900 ROCKET EDITION will be individually manufactured in this limited series according to the wishes of its buyer. The vehicle shown here is listed at 711,718 euros (export price not including VAT in Germany).

Ever since the first BRABUS XLP based on the Mercedes-AMG G 63 celebrated its world premiere in February 2020, the German luxury brand’s exclusive off-road pickup concept has attracted numerous proud owners around the globe. As its latest evolution, BRABUS now presents the BRABUS P 900 ROCKET EDITION, a new road-focused high-performance variant based on the current Mercedes W 465 model series. The new limited-edition supercar measures 5.38 meters (211.8 in.) in length, 2.06 meters (81.1 in.) in width and 205 centimeters (80.7 in.) in height. Compared to a standard G 63 without the rear-mounted spare wheel, it is exactly 68.9 centimeters (27.1 in.) longer. Production is limited to only 10 units worldwide.

To create a versatile cargo bed, a special extension module for the G-Class steel ladder frame was engineered using state-of-the-art design, engineering and simulation software. This extends the wheelbase by exactly 50 centimeters (19.7 in.) compared to the base vehicle, with the rear suspension assemblies repositioned rearward by the same distance. Manufacturing to the strictest quality standards ensures that the frame's torsional rigidity is fully preserved.

The four-door passenger cabin was equipped with a specially manufactured steel rear bulkhead positioned behind the rear seats, naturally incorporating a heated rear window. Behind it is the cargo bed, whose robust floor and side-opening tailgate are made of metal. The cargo bed's side panels, by contrast, are manufactured from carbon fiber using the prepreg process. The bed features durable soft-teak decking with red BRABUS lettering. Two lockable, waterproof cargo boxes are integrated directly behind the cabin's rear bulkhead.

The bold, unmistakable appearance of the BRABUS P 900 ROCKET EDITION is further enhanced by the BRABUS ROCKET EDITION WIDESTAR widebody design adapted specifically to this body style. The exposed-carbon fender flares at the front and rear provide space for the largest high-tech wheels currently available in the BRABUS range.

The 24-inch BRABUS Monoblock II EVO "PLATINUM EDITION" light-alloy wheels are manufactured using advanced forging and machining technologies to achieve maximum strength. Their iconic three-spoke design, finished in matte black, receives an additional sporty upgrade in the form of BRABUS aeroblades made from exposed carbon fiber. The 10Jx24 front wheels are fitted with 295/30 ZR 24 high-performance tires. Beneath the rear fender flares, 12Jx24 wheels accommodate 345/25 ZR 24 tires. The special Ventus tires were developed by technology partner Hankook specifically for the BRABUS 24-inch wheels for the Mercedes G-Class.

The BRABUS Ride Control aluminum coilover suspension was specifically calibrated to the low-profile tires, vehicle weight and extended pickup wheelbase. It lowers the all-wheel-drive Masterpiece supercar by approximately 45 millimeters (1.8 in.) compared to the base vehicle. The driver can select their preferred damping setup from several settings using the Drive Select switch in the cockpit.

The BRABUS P 900 ROCKET EDITION’s side profile features illuminated running boards adapted to the extended wheelbase. In addition, the BRABUS Light Carpet projects the Bottrop-based luxury design house’s logo onto the ground under all four doors. On each side of the vehicle, two chrome tailpipes are positioned just ahead of the rear wheel in a distinctive sidepipe configuration. They are framed by an exposed-carbon surround incorporating a red ROCKET Launch Ambience Light. Additional signature BRABUS design elements along the sides include exposed-carbon exterior mirror housings and side trim inserts.

The striking front end is characterized by the exposed carbon-fiber front fascia with its generously sized air intakes, LED position lights and integrated front spoiler. The illuminated exposed-carbon radiator grille surround perfectly showcases the two red signature stripes and the likewise illuminated BRABUS front emblem. Another characteristic feature is the BRABUS Powerdome on the hood. At the rear, the tailgate features an exposed-carbon trim panel with illuminated red BRABUS lettering. The WIDESTAR rear fascia is manufactured from the same high-tech composite material and seamlessly connects to the rear wheel arches on both sides.

As has been tradition at BRABUS for almost five decades, a Masterpiece supercar from Bottrop, Germany, is never just an exceptional visual statement. Under the hood of the new high-performance pickup, the BRABUS 900 badge takes center stage on the red exposed-carbon engine cover. It identifies the powerplant as the most powerful increased-displacement engine currently produced at the BRABUS engine manufacturing facility.

The G 63's eight-cylinder engine undergoes a comprehensive transformation. Increasing displacement from the standard 3,982 cm³ to 4,407 cm³ involves more than enlarging the cylinder bores to 84 millimeters (3.3 in.) and installing eight forged pistons with a correspondingly increased diameter. The conversion also includes a specially developed crankshaft, machined from solid billet and precision-balanced, with the stroke increased to 100 millimeters (3.9 in.), along with matching high-performance connecting rods.

However, increasing displacement alone would not be sufficient to generate an additional 315 horsepower compared to the standard engine. The powerplant also features two BRABUS turbochargers with larger compressor units and specially designed center sections with reinforced axial bearings. These increase boost pressure to 1.4 bar. Two BRABUS BoostXtra valves produce a powerful blow-off sound during throttle transitions.

In addition, the fuel supply system is upgraded with special high-pressure pumps. On the exhaust side, downpipes with a diameter of 76 millimeters and metal catalytic converters are installed. The engine conversion also includes the BRABUS stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with electronically controlled exhaust valves. At the touch of a button on the center console, the driver can choose between a powerful V8 soundtrack in Sport mode and a discreet whisper in "Coming Home" mode.

All BRABUS high-performance components are perfectly coordinated through extensively programmed maps for fuel injection, ignition and boost pressure control. To ensure optimal performance and reliability, the BRABUS engineers and electronics specialists conducted extensive testing on the company's state-of-the-art engine test benches, as well as on racetracks and public roads. The result is an exceptional combination of power delivery, durability and compliance with current emissions standards. BRABUS uses high-performance lubricants supplied by technology partner MOTUL.

With the 4.5-liter BRABUS ROCKET 900 V8 biturbo increased-displacement engine producing 662 kW / 900 hp at just 6,200 rpm and 1,250 Nm (922 lb-ft) of maximum torque available at 2,900 rpm, the BRABUS P 900 ROCKET EDITION ranks among the most powerful vehicles of its kind worldwide. To protect the drivetrain components, torque is electronically limited to 1,050 Nm (774 lb-ft) inside the vehicle.

Thanks to the perfect interaction of its nine-speed automatic transmission and permanent all-wheel drive, the pickup accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 280 km/h (174 mph). Fittingly, the supercar is equipped with a custom BRABUS speedometer calibrated to 300 km/h (186 mph).

Matching the exterior color, the specialists of the BRABUS upholstery workshop meticulously handcrafted an exclusive BRABUS Masterpiece interior for the high-performance pickup, finished in a combination of exceptionally soft black leather and Alcantara. Among its many intricate highlights is the precise quilting in the distinctive "Shell" design on the seat center sections, which are additionally perforated to accommodate the seat ventilation system. The same quilting pattern can also be found on the inner sections of the door panels, the leather-upholstered footwells and the elegant leather floor mats.

Bright red decorative stitching, piping and Masterpiece emblems provide a striking contrast to the black interior. In addition, cockpit elements such as switches, trim panels, door handles, speaker grilles and air vents are finished in "ROCKET RED."

High-gloss carbon-fiber elements and pedal pads underscore the supercar’s distinctively sporty character throughout the cockpit. The same material is used for the inserts in the interior grab handles and the BRABUS paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. When shifting the automatic transmission manually, integrated LED lights change color from green through yellow to red, prompting the driver to upshift at high engine speeds. The carbon-fiber BRABUS entry panels feature illuminated red BRABUS logos. Red-anodized aluminum door-lock pins add further distinctive accents.

Passengers in the rear benefit from the BRABUS-developed "Easy Entry" function, which allows the doors to open to a 90-degree angle for greater convenience when entering and exiting the vehicle. They can also access information on vehicle speed, engine rpm, outside temperature, G-forces, time and date via a BRABUS instrument console, seamlessly integrated into the Alcantara headliner.

Like every genuine BRABUS Masterpiece manufactured at the BRABUS headquarters in Germany, the BRABUS P 900 ROCKET EDITION also comes with an exclusive BRABUS Weekender travel bag, handcrafted in the BRABUS upholstery workshop using the same leather and quilting pattern as the supercar's Masterpiece interior and likewise fully customizable down to the smallest detail. What is more, as a member of the Aura Blockchain Consortium, an initiative involving leading luxury brands such as LVMH, the Prada Group, Cartier and the OTB Group, BRABUS also registers the vehicle on the Aura Private Blockchain. A unique Digital Product Passport verifies ownership, helps prevent counterfeiting and provides a permanent, verifiable record of authenticity – directly accessible via NFC technology embedded into the Spec Plate in the left-hand side panel of the cargo bed.
