Classic Recreations to Showcase Performance Excellence at SEMA 2026 with World's Only Carbon-Fiber Shelby GT500CR and Chris Bumstead's Custom Boss 429

Relaunched under Velocity Restorations ownership, Classic Recreations brings the world's only production carbon-fiber Shelby GT500CR and a one-off Boss 429 built for Chris Bumstead to SEMA 2026.

Relaunched under Velocity Restorations ownership, Classic Recreations will showcase the world's only production, ground-up carbon-fiber Shelby GT500CR alongside a bespoke 1969 Boss 429 Mustang built for six-time Classic Physique Olympia champion Chris Bumstead at the 2026 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

Fresh off its high-profile debut at the Concours at Wynn Las Vegas, Classic Recreations is set to unveil two ultra-exclusive expressions of pure American muscle: the carbon-fiber Shelby GT500CR and a ferocious custom Boss 429 Mustang commissioned by Bumstead.

Headlining the display is the SEMA-first appearance of the world's only production, fully licensed, ground-up Shelby GT500CR forged with a fully carbon fiber body. Officially licensed by Shelby and recorded in the Shelby Worldwide Registry, this ultra-limited GT500CR combines the unmistakable presence of the original Shelby Mustang with modern materials and performance engineering. The vehicles represent the next chapter for Classic Recreations under Velocity ownership, with a renewed focus on engineering, performance, craftsmanship and the driving experience.

The GT500CR Carbon integrates a Wegner-built, Whipple-supercharged Gen 4X Coyote V8 with a Suncoast 10-speed transmission, Detroit Speed chassis, Nitron electronically controlled suspension and Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes. FuelTech standalone engine management and traction control support the powertrain, highlighting the integration of advanced controls and performance hardware within a classic platform.

Sharing the spotlight is Chris Bumstead's one-of-one custom Boss 429 Mustang. A Whipple-supercharged 7.3-liter Ford Performance Megazilla V8 is paired with a Suncoast 10-speed transmission, Detroit Speed chassis, JRI shocks and Wilwood brakes. A carbon-fiber driveshaft, Forgeline wheels and personalized interior details complete the build.

The GT500CR will be displayed at the FuelTech booth (#24431) in Central Hall, with Bumstead's Boss 429 at Central Plaza NL 19, Tuesday, November 3 through Friday, November 6. Stuart Wilson, Founder and CEO of Velocity Restorations and CEO of Classic Recreations, will be onsite for interviews on Tuesday and Wednesday.
