Cummins Continues to Support Customers with Updated DEF Inducement Calibrations

COLUMBUS, IND. — Cummins says it is continuing to roll out updated diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) inducement calibrations in line with EPA guidance issued in August 2025. The updates give operators more time to address certain DEF and selective catalytic reduction issues before engine power or speed reductions occur, aiming to reduce unnecessary downtime for on-highway and non-road equipment while keeping emissions compliance in place. Tens of thousands of engines have already received the updates. Cummins notes DEF remains required for proper emissions system operation and directs customers to local distributors or dealers for available updates.
