Full braking power ahead: tailor-made brake pads for heavyweights
With new additions to the Textar product range, garages can reliably restore the original equipment brake performance of powerful vehicle models such as the Ford Transit Custom, Tourneo Custom, Ford Bronco, Ford Ranger, VW Amarok, and Porsche Macan.
LEVERKUSEN — Textar, the premium brand for OE-quality brake technology from TMD Friction, is expanding its range to include brake pads for the Ford Transit Custom, Tourneo Custom, Ford Bronco, Ford Ranger, VW Amarok and Porsche Macan vehicle models.
At the time of market launch, Textar is the only supplier in the independent aftermarket for brake pads for these heavy, powerful vehicles, which place high demands on the friction material – the heart of the brake. Whether vans, off-roaders, pick-up trucks or performance SUVs – all these models bring significantly more mass to the road than classic passenger cars. In addition, they are often heavily loaded, tow trailers, have powerful engines, or are intended for demanding off-road or commercial use. The result: high thermal and mechanical stress on the brake system and above-average demands on the friction material. "For heavy, powerful vehicles, we advise automotive professionals to pay particular attention to quality when selecting replacement parts," explains Scott Irwin, Head of Technical Training at TMD Friction. "As the heart of the brake system, the brake pads in such models must meet the highest standards. Tailor-made brake pad formulations which are individually adapted to the vehicle, its braking system, and its intended use contribute significantly to safely coping with the special stresses and strains required by these vehicles."
The new pads in the range offer impressive features: model-specific friction materials for OE-quality braking performance; high temperature resistance for consistent performance under heavy loads; optimised pedal feel for consistent braking force; durable friction pad compound despite demanding application profiles; noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) optimisation in accordance with current standards; improved emissions.
Garages can restore braking feel and performance after brake wear with tailor-made Textar pads by precisely fitting replacement parts that have been specially developed for the toughest driving applications – vans in heavy use, powerful off-road vehicles, or high-powered premium SUVs. The following pads are now available: ITEM NO.: 2696201 Ford Ranger, rear axle (first registered 02/2004); ITEM NO.: 2696201 VW Amarok, rear axle (first registered 03/2023); ART. NO.: 2633401 Porsche Macan, rear axle (first registered 09/2024); ART. NO.: 2706701 Ford Transit Custom, rear axle (first registration 08/2024); ITEM NO.: 2706701 Ford Tourneo Custom, rear axle (first registration 08/2024); ITEM NO.: 2630001 Ford Bronco, front axle (first registration 09/2022).
