Mitsubishi Motors Returns to SEMA for First Time Since 2012, Hosts World Debut of All-new 2028 Outlander Diamond Trail Edition

Diamond Trail is the most capable Outlander model ever offered, with a new Rock mode for the Super-All Wheel Control system, dedicated 18-inch off-road wheels and all-terrain tires.

FRANKLIN, TENN. — Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) today announced its return to the SEMA Show, Nov. 3-6, 2026, in Las Vegas, marking the brand's first appearance at the premier automotive aftermarket event since 2012. Headlining Mitsubishi Motors' exhibit at Booth 52249 in West Hall will be the world debut of the all-new 2028 Outlander Diamond Trail Edition, the most capable and adventure-focused Outlander ever offered in North America.

"SEMA is where automotive passion, innovation and personalization come together, making it the ideal stage for the world debut of the all-new Outlander Diamond Trail Edition," said Mark Chaffin, president and CEO, MMNA. "This vehicle represents the next step in our Momentum 2030 vision, combining Mitsubishi Motors' off-road heritage with the capability, technology and versatility today's customer demands."

In the Diamond Trail Edition, the standard Outlander's Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) system gains a new Rock mode. The setting uses enhanced brake control to quickly suppress wheel-slip and help secure traction, and it activates faster than in other S-AWC modes. A new instrument cluster screen can show front-wheel steering angle, individual wheel-slip and traction-control intervention, the Multi-View Camera System can remain on up to 18.6 mph, and Hill Descent Control is automatically activated when Rock mode is selected.

The Diamond Trail Edition stands apart with a matte black grille and black Dynamic Shield trim, redesigned bumpers that improve approach angle from 18.3 to 20.5 degrees and departure angle from 22.2 to 23.1 degrees, aggressive over-fenders, unique 18x7.5-inch black alloy wheels with dedicated Nexen Roadian ATX all-terrain tires, and raised roof rails. Inside, a new dark grey seating material with khaki stitching repels water and is easier to clean. The edition also debuts a new color, Trail Green Metallic, which can be offset with a white roof.

Three Outlander Diamond Trail Editions will be on the Mitsubishi stand, from a stock vehicle with Mitsubishi Genuine Accessories to a modified build on BFGoodrich Trail Terrain T/A tires with a Thule Caprock roof rack and a 1.5-inch lift, and a third, most extreme build on Method Race Wheels 707 wheels, BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A K03 tires, a 2.5-inch Flatout Suspension lift, a rooftop tent and Rough Country lighting. Additional display vehicles include the AXCR Triton rally truck, the Delica D:5 Ultimate Gear and the Outlander Sport Trail Edition. In total, six vehicles will be showcased on the stand.
