Used EVs May Be More Reliable Than You Think. VinFast Is Making Them Easier to Buy

MARKHAM, ONTARIO — VinFast is making the case for used electric vehicles in Canada, pointing to research suggesting EVs can be more reliable than comparable gasoline vehicles as mileage climbs, and to its VinFast Certified Pre-Owned program as a way to buy one with added confidence.

The release cites a September 2026 UK study of 47.4 million inspections and a Hanoi University of Science and Technology analysis of more than 5,600 vehicles, both finding fewer failures or breakdowns for EVs than gasoline counterparts beyond early mileage, and Geotab analysis of more than 22,700 EVs covering battery-health habits such as limiting frequent high-power fast charging for everyday use and avoiding prolonged periods at extremely high or low charge.
