Bridgestone Formula E World Premiere: Bridgestone Takes on a New Journey as the Sole Tire Supplier for ABB FIA Formula E World Championship

NASHVILLE, TENN. — Bridgestone Americas will become the sole tire supplier for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship starting with the 2026/27 season, a move the company announced at a world premiere event held in Rome on September 30. The timing matches the debut of the GEN4 race car, described as the fastest and most powerful in Formula E history, with peak power of 815 bhp, a top speed of 208 mph and permanent active all-wheel drive. To handle that performance, Bridgestone developed its POTENZA GEN4 tire for high grip, durability and adaptability across the varied street circuits Formula E visits, plus a heavy-wet companion, the POTENZA GEN4 for TYPHOON TIRE, aimed at grip and stability in severe rain. Bridgestone says the GEN4 range uses 65 percent recycled and renewable materials and frames motorsport as a mobile laboratory whose lessons feed its consumer and commercial tires. The multi-year deal also makes Bridgestone title sponsor of four race weekends.
