Build a More Powerful LS Engine with a Summit Racing™ SPC Pro LS Tall Deck Engine Block

Planning an LS engine build up to 468 cubic inches? Make sure the foundation is a Summit Racing SPC Pro Tall Deck LS Block. It's made for competition or street-performance use.

The block's 9.705-inch deck height makes it capable of handling high-displacement applications that require a longer crankshaft stroke.

Like all SPC Pro LS blocks, the LS Tall Deck is cast from class 35 iron in Germany at a Tier 1 OEM foundry on brand new molds. Class 35 iron is harder and has a higher tensile strength than the competition's class 30 iron. The blocks are then machine-finished in the U.S. with dimensions close to the original GM blueprint.

The SPC Pro LS Tall Deck Engine Block ships with 4.125-inch bores. The bores are .005 inches undersized so you can final-hone them for proper piston-to-cylinder wall clearance.

Other features include:

  • 468 cubic inch capacity (4.185-inch max bore with a 4.250-inch max stroke)
  • 6-bolt cylinder head mounting pattern
  • Ventilated, 6-bolt billet steel main caps with 180,00 PSI main bolts
  • Cast-in stroker clearance for 4.00-inch steel rods. Can fit 4.250-inch rods with additional clearancing
  • Siamese cylinder wall skirts extended .700-inch for superior piston stability with stroker cranks
  • Priority main oiling system with center crossover eliminates cam retainer leaks

The Summit Racing SPC Tall Deck LS Engine Block requires the use of Chevrolet Performance LSX Lifter Guides; third design/Gen IV cam bearings; and Gen IV head bolts, valley cover, and cam position sensor.
