Cold Front - Intercooler Kit for the 2022+ Honda Civic Si

Mishimoto announced a new Performance Intercooler Kit for the 2022-and-newer Honda Civic Si, aimed at the L15CA turbo engine's heat-soak problem under sustained high loads. The kit replaces the factory tube-and-fin unit with a bar-and-plate core measuring roughly 26 by 6 by 4.5 inches — a 146 percent increase in core volume — with cast aluminum end tanks rated to support builds up to 572 horsepower. High-flow aluminum hot- and cold-side piping increases flow area by 103 and 75 percent respectively, uses five-layer DuraCore silicone couplers, drops the OEM hot-side resonator, and adds a 1/8-inch NPT sensor port on the cold side. On Mishimoto's Mustang dynamometer, outlet temperatures fell 18.1 degrees Fahrenheit versus stock, with peak gains of 6.7 horsepower and 2.5 lb-ft of torque — up to 8.1 hp and 8.1 lb-ft with the piping kit — and a 25.7 percent reduction in total pressure drop. The kit is plug-and-play with OEM-style mounting and no cutting, and the intercooler can be installed on stock piping first with the piping kit added later. Mishimoto notes the design struck a balance between cooling capacity and airflow efficiency after an oversized first prototype hurt low-end torque, and the kit is backed by the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty.
