Hankook Tire's Laufenn Supplies Tires for Dacia 'Sandero' - Strengthens European Foothold

SEOUL — Hankook Tire & Technology, the tire unit of Hankook & Company Group, announced on October 13 that its global brand Laufenn will supply original equipment tires for the Dacia Sandero, a flagship model of Dacia, a brand under France's Renault Group, strengthening its position in the European market.

Laufenn will supply the second-generation summer performance tire S Fit2 and the daily comfort tire G Fit2 as original equipment for the Sandero. Based on technical collaboration with Dacia, the tires are optimized for the Sandero's vehicle characteristics and will be supplied in 16-inch specification for the S Fit2 and 15-inch specification for the G Fit2.

The Sandero is Dacia's flagship compact hatchback and ranked first in European passenger car sales for two consecutive years through last year, following 2024. An updated model introduced improvements in design, convenience and safety features, and the powertrain. Annual global sales reached approximately 289,000 units.

The S Fit2 is a second-generation summer performance tire developed for Europe's diverse climate and road conditions. It features enhanced braking performance on wet surfaces, with an approximately 16 percent shorter braking distance compared to its predecessor. The G Fit2 is a second-generation model that improves on the summer touring tire G Fit EQ+, strengthening wet-surface braking performance and mileage performance while maintaining driving performance and ride comfort.

Laufenn has also supplied original equipment tires this year to major Volkswagen Group models, including the Skoda New Octavia, Volkswagen Polo, and SEAT Ibiza.
